Liam's First Riding Lesson

Today we decided to check out a local riding school to see if Liam would enjoy lessons. He was very excited. Liam's fearlessness and confidence always amazes me. Mike and I really liked how the instructor and teen helpers were so great with the kids. They played games like Simon Says and even sang Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes while doing all the motions on the horse. I am so glad the lessons are 30 min of riding and 30 min of horse related farm work. It's important to learn to scoop poop early! Liam enjoyed himself and we are looking forward to this being a weekly activity. I know my mom is secretly thrilled since we never had the chance to learn to ride like she did. Liam has already asked when he can start going over the jumps!

Farm Fun

Liam's preschool had an open farm day today.  I have been dying to get up close to the alpacas so we headed out this morning. The weather the last couple of days has been very rainy and we weren't sure the rain would hold off. Luckily we were able to stroll around and visit all the animals and gardens before the rain started.

Liam goes to a preschool that is on a 10 acre organic farm. The owners are very passionate about being organic and self contained. The school has it's own shop were you can buy yarn from the alpaca that is dyed using organically grown plants. There are often goose or chicken eggs and veggies for sale as well. Mike and I love that Liam is able to attend school in such a unique environment.
