Busy Busy Bees

This post is LONG overdue! I have been a terrible blogger as of late. Life has been pretty busy school, visitors and fun. Some highlights:

Luci is growing and changing every day. At her 7 month well-baby (our fav provider was on leave so it was 7 instead of 6. OH WELL) she weighed in at 15lbs 10 oz. and 25 inches long. Sounds big to me but she is still only in the 5% percentile for height and weight but she has a big noggin coming in at 50 percentile! Luci has finally outgrown her 6 month jammies but most her 6-9 month clothes are still big. She is babbling and screaming and can say Dada. We discovered that she will roll to get where she wants to be if we just leave her alone. Fit throwing started around 6 months when she knows Mike and Liam are outside and she is not. Sounds crazy I know but she will stare at the front door and scream, babble angerly, and cry. The next 18 yrs are going to be rough!

Liam finished up his Reception year without too many issues. I can't say that Mike and I were surprised he received a "Below Average" on class and playground behaviour but I was hoping for better. Thankfully he is not in the same class with one of his "gang" members next year. He starts back to school the beginning of September.

My parents (Sam and Becky Longanacre) came for a two weeks visit. We had an amazing time and the kids LOVED all the undivided attention from Mimi and Papaw. Mike and I really wanted to make sure my parents had an enjoyable time so they would visit again. Trips ideas were tossed around but my parents really just wanted to be with us. The whole crew did go to Edinburgh for two days, explored lots of local'ish spots and mom and dad even ventured to London on their own for a day. Two weeks just wasn't enough!

Here some some photos from this summer:

The Reception classes had a Pirate Mayhem one day after school.
This is what Liam looked like when I picked him up. He had a blast.

On the train to Edinburgh

Mimi cuddles

Stunned by the view at Edinburgh Castle

He hasn't met a rock face he can't climb!

Don't they look like they are having a terrible time? Could we smile people?

Last day in Edinburgh

Dad discovering the joy of clotted cream. He's now a fan!

Patty-cakes with Mimi!

Had to take them to our favorite spot. The Allmory Tea room next to Ely Cathedral.
Can't beat the view.

Checked out the horses in Newmarket at the training gallops.

Nothing like watching a few million pounds of horses run past you!

See people! It doesn't always rain in England!
