A Beautiful Day in Paris

My babies playing in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower at sunset.
These are the memories of a lifetime!

On Day 3 of our trip we thought we would take a day off and hit the local recreation center pool. We were told be the owners of our accommodations that it was very nice and had a slide. When we walked in the door we noticed a big sign with a pair of swim trunks in a red circle with a line through it. The guy at the desk told Mike that everyone had to wear tight bottoms for hygienic reasons. That meant that 3 of the 4 of us needed bikini bottoms. Mike wasn't digging the idea of buying a mankini so we decided to head to a nearby town and walk around. Liam was very unhappy by the grown ups decision and to top it off, the town we decided to check out was a dud. (see photo above and check out Liam's face.) Thankfully it was only 15 min away so we headed home and to the pool. I have to say I like the mankini on my buff hubbie but I have a feeling I will never see him wear them again. The pool facility was very nice with 4 pools and a water slide and lots of great people watching. A fun time was had by all!

On Day 4 we decided to head to Paris and check out the Eiffel tower. Since Paris is world famous for crazy traffic we decided to try taking the train. Once we priced the tickets (325 Euros) we decided to drive! On our way Mike noticed signs for the Charles De Gaulle airport and had the genius idea to park there and take the train into the city center. When we finally emerged from the trains and subway we were on the Champs Elysees! The skies were blue, the sun was shinning and we were in Paris!
Making our way through the airport to the train.

Liam didn't want his picture taken. He was really excited even though
he looks like he's sad.

We walked down the Champs Elysees to the Arc DE Triumph and then over to the Eiffel Tower. One of the Tower elevators was not running so we waited in line for 3 hrs!! Thankfully Liam entertained himself and was no trouble and Luci passed out in her backpack. When we reached the top of the tower  the sun was starting to set and it was glorious! I could have stayed up there all day. Liam was really enjoying himself with the exception of all the rude pushy people. He asked on the way down why people were so rude and I wasn't sure what to tell him. Luci ended up throwing a fit. It was past her bedtime, she wasn't aloud to get down and run around and she was hungry. When the screaming started we headed for the exit! Thankfully there is a small children's playground right across the street so the kids played in the shadow of the Eiffel tower until 8:30 pm while I watched the sunset on the most perfect day. Mike decided we would just grab a cab from the tower back to the train station and it was great. All the city lights were twinkling, the streets were alive and we could relax. That was the best 15 Euros ever spent!

Try 3 hours!

Still smiling after 2 hrs in line. That's my awesome traveller!

Hoping for an Osprey sponsorship! hahaha!

One step closer!

At the top.

The only bad thing that happened the WHOLE day was loosing the car at the airport. It took 1 hr to find where we had parked the car and we were all tired and cranky. The note I had made about our parking spot wasn't exact but if Mike would have listened we might have been out a little earlier.
